BIO
AC Lamberty is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker, writer, and curator. His work explores stories of “malicious identity”: gay people behaving badly as a way of examining how we develop and embody our identities within flawed, often hostile systems. Aiming to create specific artifacts of contemporary gay life, his artistic work has a theatrical, texturally queer visual language and often includes elements of fantasy and artifice.
AC’s short films have screened at festivals including NewFest, Roze FilmDagen, and the Nashville and Omaha Film Festivals. His latest, MANICURE, is headed to the festival circuit in 2027. AC was a 2024 New Roots writer in residency and a 2022 Lambda Literary Writers Retreat for Emerging LGBT Voices screenwriting fellow. He is currently developing the feature version of his award-winning short screenplay MISS TEEN DAIRY MINNESOTA, a 2026 Cannes Queer Palm Lab finalist, and the short film CONNOR STORRIE IS HERE TONIGHT.
AC’s written work can be found in various literary magazines and non-fiction publications like Eater, and, most recently, the HarperCollins collection of The Best American Food and Travel Writing 2025. He is currently the co-host of Feminist Frequency Radio, a cultural criticism podcast, and the creator and editor of Gelée, an annual digital pop culture zine published through magazine Currant Jam. As an event producer, AC co-created, curates and produces video work for Something Else?, an L.A.-based experimental reading/performance series.
By day, you can find AC as the programs manager for non-profit ReFrame, the gender equity initiative from Sundance Institute and Women In Film.
